Mr. Flanagan has been lead trial counsel or sole counsel in over 50 jury trials during more than 25 years of civil trial practice in the State of Florida. He has extensive experience in aggressively and effectively representing defendants and insurance carriers in multi-million dollar cases involving a wide variety of matters, such as: personal injury/wrongful death, construction defects, architect/engineer professional liability, commercial trucking, auto liability, and medical malpractice. Additionally, he has been involved in defending clients in multiple class action matters, including the DUPONT PLAZA HOTEL FIRE case in Puerto Rico, and the manufacturer in many EPHEDRA NUTRITIONAL SUPPLEMENT cases. He also was involved in representing Ford Motor Company in numerous product liability cases in the South Florida area. Therefore, he has acquired the knowledge and skills essential to the proper preparation and presentation of the defense of a civil case, and can do so in a cost-effective and efficient manner.
Not only does Mr. Flanagan represent clients in the State Courts in Florida, he is also admitted to practice in the Federal District Courts, and does so on a regular basis. He is a member of the Trial Lawyers Section of the Florida Bar, and has been involved with various Bar committees. A past vice-chairman of the Judicial Administration, Selection and Tenure Committee of the Florida Bar, he has also lectured on civil litigation topics in professional education seminars sponsored by the Bar.
Mr. Flanagan graduated from The University of Scranton in 1974, with a B.S. in Political Science. He then moved to Florida, and attended Nova University Center for the Study of Law (now Nova Southeastern University – Shepard Broad Law Center), obtaining his J.D. in 1977, as a member of the Charter Class for the institution. He is a member of The Florida Bar, The Federal Bar Association for the Southern District of Florida, and the Palm Beach County Bar Association.
